Privacy Policy

This policy explains what My Trailer Info (“we,” “us”) collects when you visit mytrailer.info, download a guide, or send us a message, how we use that information, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions go to [email protected].

Information you give us

• Guide and Price Guide downloads. Your first name and email, plus anything else the form asks for, such as last name, phone, ZIP code, buying timeline, and the trailer type and brand you are interested in.
• The contact form. Your name, email, whether you are a dealer, manufacturer, advertiser, or other, your company if you give it, your message, and whether you asked for the newsletter.
• The newsletter. Your email and, if you give it, your first name.
• Dealer ratings. Your first and last name, email, ZIP code, your star rating, how and when you dealt with the dealer, the trailer type, how you want the rating labeled, and whether you asked for the newsletter. To limit fake and repeat ratings, we also keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, never the address itself.
• Other tools. Features we add later collect only what their forms show and follow this policy.

With each signup we keep a record of your consent: the exact wording you agreed to, the time, and the page you were on.

Information collected automatically

• Security and spam protection. Our host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address, browser details, and approximate country to deliver the site and block abuse. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks browser and device signals to tell people from bots.
• How you found us. The page you signed up on, the site that referred you, and campaign tags in the link you followed.
• Downloads. Which guides you download, and when, through your personal download link.
• Email activity. Our email provider records whether our emails are delivered, opened, or clicked.
• Analytics and advertising. We use, or may use, cookies and similar tools from Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, and Ads), Meta, Reddit, and LinkedIn to measure traffic and advertising, and tools that identify the company behind a business visit. These providers may collect information about your visit and use it under their own privacy policies.

How we use it

• Deliver the guides you request and keep your download link working.
• Send the emails you agreed to, including our newsletter, follow-ups about buying a trailer, and new editions of our guides. The consent box on each form says so.
• Answer your messages and partnership inquiries.
• Understand what readers use so we can improve the site, and measure our advertising.
• Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse, and meet legal obligations.

Who we share it with

• Service providers that run the site and our email for us, including Cloudflare (hosting, storage, and security), Brevo (email), and Google Workspace (our inbox). They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
• Dealers, only with your permission. We do not share your details with dealers. If we ever offer to put you in touch with one, the form will ask first, and we will share only what you agree to.
• Everyone, for ratings you publish. A confirmed dealer rating shows your stars, the label you chose (first name and last initial, a nickname, or “Verified customer”), how you dealt with the dealer, the month, and the trailer type. We never show your email, ZIP code, or full last name. You can delete your rating any time with the link in your confirmation email.
• Advertising and analytics partners, through the cookies and tools described above.
• A new owner. If My Trailer Info is sold, merged, or transferred, the information we hold may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy for information collected under it.
• When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our readers, us, or others.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some state laws treat sharing through advertising cookies as a “sale” or “sharing.” You can opt out of that at any time with the Your Privacy Choices link at the bottom of every page, and out of dealer sharing by emailing us.

Your choices

• Email. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. It works right away.
• Access, correction, and deletion. Email [email protected] to see what we hold about you, fix it, or delete it. We may need to confirm the request came from you.
• Cookies. Our cookie banner lets you accept or reject analytics and advertising cookies, and you can change your choice any time with Your Privacy Choices at the bottom of every page. Visitors in Europe, the UK, and Switzerland start with those cookies off until they choose. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of advertising cookies. Your browser settings also let you block or delete cookies.
• State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, and other states, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain uses of your information, and to appeal our decision. Email us to use them. We will not treat you differently for doing so.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while it is useful for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete it. Download links stay active for two years. We keep consent records as long as we keep the contact they belong to, and some records longer when the law requires it.

Security

We use access controls and encryption in transit, and we store files and records with providers that secure their systems. No method is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The site is for adults shopping for trailers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Where we operate

My Trailer Info is run from the United States, and our providers store information in the United States and other countries.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For significant changes, we will give notice on the site or by email.
